Use the Skew feature to select the fabric repeat area

Skewing the selection area will compensate for minor wrinkles and deformations.

Selecting the correct repeat area is the beginning step when tiling a fabric. This area defines the part of the material that you want the 3D tool to repeat and if this is not right, your textile will appear or render incorrectly.

Selecting the correct area is not always easy and minor deformations on the fabric when laying it down in the scanner platen can cause the tiling repeat not to be square/rectangular. It's in these cases when skewing the selected area becomes crucial. See how our colleague and expert tiler Julianne uses the Skew feature.
