How To Use Workflow for Tiling
Using SEDDI Textura's Workflow features as a way to implement version control, save layers, and save steps during the tiling process.
SEDDI Textura: Using Workflow for Tiling
SEDDI Textura Workflow makes it possible for tiling teams to submit digital fabrics to be tiled, and to collaborate with mill and tiling partners to scan and upload fabrics into your account.
Workflow also enables the option to save steps along the way during the tiling process, which lets you keep previous versions of your work.
Working with a Standard SEDDI Textura license lets you tile your scan fabrics with our tiling tools in one go.
Working with an Enterprise SEDDI Textura license enables you to unlock the power of Workflow for make your tiling process even easier.
Once your fabric scan is uploaded, you can use the standard SEDDI Textura tiling tools to get the perfect repeat. When you're ready, hit the "Create Material" button and your fabric will be submitted for its texture maps to be generated.
Alternatively using Workflow, once you hit "Create Material", your fabric will go into the "Waiting queue".
This is what the main screen will look like:
If you would like to keep the original version of the scan in order to make a comparison for the fabric once it's ready, use the button "Reupload original scan".
If you choose to re-upload the original scan, the first version uploaded will be kept on the right side for reference. This way, you can easily compare how the tiling output matches the original fabric, to ensure quality control and create the most realistic digital fabric possible.
When using Workflow while working through the steps of tiling with Textura's tiling tools, you can choose to reset your changes, discard your work, or implement the changes.
The "Reset" button will reset your edits and keep you on the tiling tools screen to continue your work.
The "Discard" button will reset your tiling work to the latest saved version, and will take you back to the main screen.
Saving a New Version
The "Implement" button will implement the changes. This feature will save your current stage of work in the tiling process.
On the left in the Download section, you will be able to see the version that is in the tiling process that you created.
This feature can be used to save steps on the way if you wish to do part of the tiling work on external software. It can also be used as a saved history in case you need to go a few steps back in your process.
In such a case, hit the tiling tool file version that you wish to continue with, and upload it again as a tiled guidance map with the button "Upload tiled guidance map".
Working on the fabric will keep it in the "Working on it" tab.
Once your tiling work is done and you are happy with the result, press "Generate Maps" to send the fabric to be processed.
After its texture maps have been processed, your digital fabric will be waiting for you in the Material Review tab.
From here, review the final results, approve the material, or send it back to the working on it tab.
When working with tiling teams, whether internal or external, you can choose which one of your team members takes the QA role to approve materials, and who will be the tiling team member(s) responsible for the tiling work. This will streamline your workflow by allowing you to monitor the progress of fabrics, identify their current stage, and determine when you'd like to review the work to provide your final input.
