How to Recolor Heather Fabrics Using Textura’s ‘Recolor from Scan’ Tool
Effortless Heather Fabric Recoloring with Textura’s Innovative Scan-Based Tool
Recoloring heather fabrics presents a unique challenge, as it involves preserving the distinct yarn colors and their distribution throughout the fabric.
The “Recolor from Scan” tool offers a streamlined solution for recoloring heather fabrics.
This feature enables users to generate precise color variations directly from scanned fabric samples,
making the design process faster and more efficient while maintaining visual accuracy.
How to use the ‘Recolor from Scan’ Tool
Once a fabric is approved, click "Edit this texture"
click color
Scroll down to ‘Recolor from Scan’ and hit "Upload File"
This recoloring tool will recolor from a fabric scan swatch:
for example:
You’ll need to have the color swatch you intend to recolor prepared in advance.
The color swatch must be smaller than the dimensions of your tiled fabric
The color swatch can be as small as 100x100 pixels, but we recommend using a larger size, such as 400x400 pixels, to ensure that all the color variations in your desired heather swatch are accurately captured
Click 'Save as' to store the newly recolored version of your heather fabric
Please note that the 'Recolor from Scan' tool is intended for recoloring fabric scans with color variations, not for solid color fabrics. Uploading non-scan fabric swatches may lead to unrealistic color results.
If you attempt to upload a non-scan image, Textura will display the following warning:
While experimentation is encouraged, please be aware that the results may not accurately reflect your intended physical fabric.
If you choose to proceed in this manner, the recommended approach within Textura is to upload a gradient solid square rather than a full solid color.
for example:
This is because the recoloring tool detects and follows the varying tones in the fabric during the recoloring process.
